Go Eat Fish tips: how to grow fast and stay alive

Updated · 2 minute read

To grow fast in Go Eat Fish, feed on the small schools first, read the size number above every fish before you go near it, and never chase a fish your own size. Watch the edges of the screen: the Zombie Shark comes in from the side.

Read the numbers

Every fish shows its size above it, and so do you. Anything with a smaller number is food; anything with a bigger one can eat you, other players included. Check the number, not how big the picture looks.

Growing

  • Start on the schools of tiny fish. They are easy meals, and there are plenty of them.
  • Stay near the edge of a school rather than the middle, so you have somewhere to go if something bigger arrives.
  • As you grow, bigger predators such as swordfish and tiger sharks start to appear. Give them room until your number is higher than theirs.

The Zombie Shark

Every minute and a half or so, a Zombie Shark sweeps into the reef from the left or the right and stays for about 18 seconds. It eats any player it touches, however big. When it appears, head for the opposite side and wait it out.

Other players

Up to eight players share the water online, and up to three can share one keyboard. A player your own size is a risk, not a meal: move on and grow somewhere else, then come back.

When you are eaten, your run ends with a score. The scoreboard keeps your best run, so every dive is a new try at beating it.

Questions

How do I know what I can eat?
Compare the number above a fish with your own. Smaller numbers are food.
Can I eat other players?
Yes, if they are smaller than you. They can eat you too.
Does my choice of fish change anything?
Only how you look. Every player starts at the same size and grows by eating.
