How to play Mini Golf
- 1
Players take turns to putt. Drag back from anywhere and let go: the direction aims and the length sets the power.
- 2
Get the ball in the cup in as few strokes as you can. Par is worked out from the real route round the scenery, not the straight line.
- 3
Water costs a penalty stroke, and you play again from where you hit it.
- 4
A putt that's too fast can roll straight over the cup. The lowest total over the round wins.
A new course every time
Greens come as rectangles and half-rounds facing any direction. Ponds and blocks are placed across the line from the tee to the cup, and each barrier leaves a gap on alternating sides, so most holes play as an S-bend rather than a straight putt.
Every hole is checked before you see it: if the ball couldn't reach the cup, the hole is rebuilt with less scenery. You will never get a hole that can't be finished.
Rounds can be 1, 3 or 6 holes.
Balls
Coins earned on the green buy new ball patterns. The coloured ring round each ball always shows whose it is, so patterns never make balls hard to tell apart.
Tips
- Bank shots off the walls are often shorter than the way round.
- Aim for the gap first and the cup second. Two good putts beat one heroic miss into the water.
- Softer is safer near the cup: a fast ball can ride right over the hole.
Mini Golf questions
- Is Mini Golf free?
- Yes, free in the browser with no adverts inside the game. Coins from playing buy ball patterns.
- Can I play Mini Golf alone?
- Yes, against Rookie, Club or Pro bots.
- How many people can play?
- Up to four in one room, taking turns.
- Are the courses always the same?
- No. Every hole is built new for each round, and each one is checked to make sure it can be finished.
- Can I play Mini Golf on my phone?
- Yes. Mini Golf runs in your phone's browser with nothing to install, on Android and iPhone. Turn the phone sideways to play. One finger is all it needs: taps, or drag and let go. Friends can join the same room from their own phones, tablets or computers.
