Cookie Policy

This page lists everything PlaywithBuddies keeps in your browser, what each item is for and how long it lasts. There is nothing here for advertising or analytics, which is why you are not asked to accept cookies.

1. Why there is no cookie banner

The law in most places, including the EU and UK ePrivacy rules, says you must be asked before a site stores anything on your device that is not strictly necessary for the service you asked for. Advertising, analytics and tracking all need consent.

PlaywithBuddies stores none of those. Everything it keeps in your browser is needed to sign you in and run the game you are playing, which is the exception the rules make, so there is nothing to ask you about. If that ever changes, you will be asked first, and you will be able to say no and keep using the site.

2. Cookies we set

We do not set any cookies of our own. Signing in with Google may set cookies on Google's own domains as part of that sign-in, which is Google's doing and is covered by Google's cookie notice.

3. What we keep in your browser

Instead of cookies, the site uses your browser's own storage. Here is all of it.

Firebase sign-in tokens

Type:
Local storage and IndexedDB, set by Google Firebase Authentication
Purpose:
Keeps you signed in, so you do not have to sign in again on every page or every visit.
How long it lasts:
Until you sign out or clear your browser data.

Profile sync marker

Type:
Local storage
Purpose:
Records that your profile has already been checked today, so a repeat visit does not re-read and re-write your profile.
How long it lasts:
24 hours, then it is refreshed.

Last room

Type:
Local storage
Purpose:
Remembers the last room you were in, so you can rejoin it from the dashboard.
How long it lasts:
Until you leave the room or clear your browser data.

Dismissed notices

Type:
Local storage
Purpose:
Remembers which site notice you have closed, so it does not reappear on every page.
How long it lasts:
Until a newer notice replaces it.

Game settings, coins and unlocks

Type:
Local storage, set by each game
Purpose:
Keeps volume and other settings, and holds coins and unlocked items for games played outside a signed-in room. In a signed-in room, these live on your account instead.
How long it lasts:
Until you clear your browser data.

Seen requests and session markers

Type:
Session storage
Purpose:
Stops the same friend request toast appearing twice, avoids a reload loop after an update, and holds a short-lived admin token in the admin panel.
How long it lasts:
Until you close the tab.

Cached pictures

Type:
In-memory cache
Purpose:
Holds profile pictures already loaded, so the same picture is not downloaded again while you browse.
How long it lasts:
Until you close or reload the page.

4. Managing it yourself

You can clear any of this at any time through your browser's settings, usually under "cookies and site data". Clearing it signs you out and forgets your settings and any coins held locally by a game, but it does not delete your account or the progress saved to it.

Blocking storage for this site altogether will stop you signing in, because there would be nowhere to keep your sign-in.

5. Tracking across sites

We do not track you across other websites, we do not use tracking pixels or device fingerprinting, and we do not share anything with advertisers. There is nothing for a "Do Not Track" or Global Privacy Control signal to turn off, and we honour both as a request never to sell or share your information, which we never do.

6. Questions and changes

  • The Privacy Policy explains the personal information behind these items and the rights you have over it.
  • If what we store changes, this page changes with it and the date at the top is updated.
  • Any question about this page can go to bilalsaeed10b@gmail.com.
